Stu­dents take on staff

A high­lights of the Port Dou­glas State School Se­nior Swim­ming Car­ni­val at the QT Pool in­cluded a record en­try of 11 girls vy­ing for the open in­di­vid­ual med­ley ti­tle and the Year 6 stu­dents ver­sus The Teach­ers in the four-per­son 100m med­ley re­lay.

Gwyneth, Alyssa, Emily and Grace took out first place!

The one-day ac­tion packed car­ni­val was the cul­mi­na­tion of the ages 9-12yrs, 10-les­son Learn to Swim Pro­gram.

Heats and fi­nals were run in the 50m Free, Back, Breast and Fly with the first, sec­ond and third plac­ings qual­i­fy­ing for the District In­ter­school Swim Car­ni­val which will be held to­mor­row (Novem­ber 25) at the Moss­man Bi­cen­ten­nial Pool.

Girra Girra House took out the Pointscore Tro­phy for the day which caps off an awe­some year of sport for the team who have also taken out first place in the Cross Coun­try and Ath­let­ics Day events in 2016.

A great day was had by all stu­dents, teach­ers and spec­ta­tors.
