Wanted: an apprentice for nursing home build
BUILDERS Field Construct, which have been awarded a contract for initial work on the Mossman Aged Care facility, are looking to hire a new apprentice.
Founder and director Richard Field told the he was proud his company had been awarded the Early Contractor Involvement contract, which becomes the Construction Management contract once work begins on-site.
“We’re really excited about the opportunity of returning to Mossman to another project,” said Mr Field.
Richard Field and Field Construct have been involved in a number of projects around Port Douglas – Mr Field was project manager for the Port Village Shopping Centre and the IGA shopping centre, and has worked on many other projects around the Shire.
They are designing the new facility and working towards the projected start of construction closer to Easter 2017.
“We’re bringing our smarts to the project to benefit the community and Salvation Army by guiding the design team through buildability issues we know from experience as constructors.”
They are searching for local apprentices to work on the site – including a new entrant.
“The apprentice would be interested in a career in commercial carpentry, and have wanted that for some time.
“We just want someone that’s got a passion, got an interest in being an apprentice.
“We’d like to encourage indigenous applicants, both male and female.”
Requirements for applicants include completing year 12, having reasonable grades, aged between 17 and 19 inclusive, and have a driver’s licence and their own vehicle.
Applicants should send their resume, and school student report card for achievement, effort and behaviour results to email@example.com.
