Jim Dormer takes out the Palmer Open
THE men’s overall winner of the Palmer Sea Reef Open Championships, Jim Dormer, beat a packed and competitive field.
Players came from all over the place, including Paradise Palms, Cardwell, Cairns, Mossman, Half Moon Bay, Mareeba and even Alyangula in the NT to contest the two-day Open Championship over the weekend.
Jim Dormer congratulated Palmer Sea Reef for consistently organising great events.
Dormer is in a purple patch this year, always high in the placings at the Palmer Sea Reef events.
Jacquie Lambert, an audiologist from Mareeba, is also having a huge year. “I’ve won seven major contests this year,” she said. “It’s actually a bit embarrassing,” said Lambert while picking up an armful of prizes including the cup for overall ladies winner.
