SANTA’S WONGA WATER WAR

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

WONGA Beach firies stalwart Ruth Ross doesn’t know how long the annual Santa visit has been going, but she says it was a local tradition before she got involved with the rural fire brigdade nine years ago.

The much loved annual Santa lolly drop and water fight took place on a sultry afternoon when it was not unpleasant to receive a good dousing courtesy of Santa and his crew. Little kids and plenty of adults said g’day to the man in red, traded liquid firepower, and went away with armloads of lollies.
