Mischlewski does it again, and a .303 drops in
LOCAL shooter Rick Mischlewski has done it again with a double range score of 102/6 from a possible 105 with Attwood trailing on 100/4.
Three members and a visitor from Townsville shot Double 600 metres on Saturday afternoon at the Mossman and District Rifle Range.
Shooting conditions on the day were very challenging due to a constantly changing mirage.
In the Full bore Target division (Peep Sights only) Rick Mischlewski had a first round score of 49.3 followed closely by Neil Attwood with 48.1 – not as many centre bulls as last week!
In the second round Mischlewski dropped two points to score 53.3, with Attwood only one point behind on 52.3
The final score was Mischlewski with 102.6 and Attwood on 100.4
Norbit Schmidt, shooting F class (Scope with mechanical rest), shot a 53.2 out of 60 and 58.2, giving a total of 111.4 from 126
Callum Curtis from the armed services in Townsville shot Service Rifle (.303 open sight) to score 33 from 50 – a commendable score considering the weapon is most likely WWII vintage.
This was the last shoot for the year.
Shooting will recommence on Saturday, January 14.
The club welcomes any visitors and new members. Shooting starts at 1.15 pm
