Young tourist survives or­deal

AT 8pm on New Year’s Eve a 12-year-old male tourist from Mel­bourne was bit­ten on the an­kle by a Brown snake in Port Dou­glas. Paramedics trans­ported the boy to Moss­man Hos­pi­tal where he be­gan to show symp­toms of the bite, and he was then air­lifted to Cairns Hos­pi­tal for fur­ther treat­ment. He re­mained sta­ble, and has since made a full re­cov­ery.
