Chris Morris heads list of speakers at business forum
TOURISM magnate Chris Morris is the guest speaker scheduled for the 2017 Douglas Business Forum to be held at QT Resort on Tuesday, February 21.
Mr Morris made his fortune when he floated his internet domain name business and has since diversified into breweries and hospitality.
He has extensive holdings in helicopter operations in Queensland, including Nautilus, and owns the Daintree Eco Lodge and Daintree Village Hotel, and is currently creating a boutique tourist accommodation property at Mt Mulligan.
His superyacht Flying Fish is berthed at the Reef Marina.
The 2017 Douglas Business Forum will bring business leaders and local operators together to provide inspiration and ideas for new and well established local enterprises.
The inaugural forum in November 2015 was attended by more than 100 local business operators.
The forum, which will go from 12pm-5pm, is free to attend and includes lunch.
As well as Chris Morris, speakers include start-up specialist Max Sylvester of Energy Matters and Nicky Jurd of Precedence who is respected as an authority on web-based tools and social marketing.
Mayor Julia Leu said the forum was a fantastic opportunity for operators to learn from each other and identify smarter ways to do business.
“On the day we will also get to hear from some of our own local successful business owners to gain insights into the challenges they have faced on their path to success,” Mayor Leu said.
Bookings for the forum are essential. Go to www.douglas.qld.gov.au for more information.
