Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - OPINION -

I can’t help but notice how hapless and disorganised otherwise level-headed people are once they get to an airport.

A family ahead of me at Cairns Airport during a busy time of day must have added at least ten minutes of waiting to everyone else’s journey. They left bags behind for the airport police to peruse (and berate them for), searched for checkin information only once they got to the desk, were sent back through the metal detector three times each and then waited for the flight crew to ask them for their ticket before going searching for it when it was time to board! It was plenty of entertainment at least. Travelling by air is easy - it’s just some fellow travellers make it look very hard.
