THE Moss­man Sharks are back on the train­ing pad­dock for 2017.

Af­ter a much im­proved 2016 which ended with a premier­ship for the C Grade, the Sharks be­gin 2017 with a con­fi­dence not seen in the club for a num­ber of years.

Re­cruit­ing in the off sea­son has been strong with some ma­jor sign­ings from other CDRL clubs and for­mer Mel­bourne un­der 20 player Sam Joe.

Af­ter months of ne­go­ti­a­tion, five play­ers from Fiji are due at the Sharks in the com­ing weeks, said club pres­i­dent Ja­son Fasano.

James Doolah who will once again be player coach for the A Grade.

He brings a wealth of big game ex­pe­ri­ence with him is look­ing for­ward to the year ahead with the al­ready strong lo­cal base and the tal­ented re­cruits ac­quired in the off sea­son.

Mark Dau will again be the Re­serve Grade coach and hopes to kick on from last sea­son as the boys fin­ished the year on a high with some good wins.

The un­der 18 com­pe­ti­tion is no longer and has been re­placed by un­der 19s.

Billy Segeyaro will take the reins as coach as­sisted by An­drew Sloane.

The num­bers at train­ing for the 19s is a pos­i­tive for the fu­ture of the club.

Train­ing is on Tues­day and Thurs­day at 6pm at the Moss­man Show­grounds.
