Tourists end up upside down
TWO young Japanese tourists escaped injury after a dramatic rollover crash on their way to Port Douglas. The tourists aged 23 and 20 came to grief just south of Turtle Cove on the Captain Cook Highway on January 12 at about 7:45am.
They had been travelling from Cairns to Port Douglas for the day when the driver lost control on a corner and skidded, with one wheel hitting a culvert.
A vehicle heading southtried to avoid the spun vehicle, but bumped into it with enough force to tip it into the culvert, where it ended up on its roof.
