Police talk to youth after Woree crash
POLICE investigating a serious crash at Woree, Cairns, yesterday morning are speaking with a 15-year-old boy who handed himself in to police.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 6.10am a station wagon, believed to have been stolen and containing a number of youths, overturned at the intersection of Windarra Street and Shannon Drive.
Two of the occupants, an 18year-old woman and a 15-yearold girl, sustained serious injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
Two other girls aged 13 and 14 received minor injuries and are being treated at hospital.
It is believed the driver, a teenage male, fled the scene.
