Attwood wins a heated round
THREE members shot Double 300 metres on Saturday afternoon at the Mossman and District Rifle Range.
Neil Attwood won the day with a double range score of 98/5 closely followed by Mischlewski on 97/5.
Shooting proved a test for the Target Rifle shooters with very hot and humid conditions as well as the very small target proved a havoc with the scores.
First range consists of 2 sighting shots to zero the rifle followed by 10 more shots.
The second range consists of 2 sighting shots followed by 11 more shots. Each shot has a maximum value of 5 points for a bull eye and down to 2 points for a bird or a magpie if not within the target.
The /3 or /5 denotes a dead centre shot within the bulls eye.
In the Full bore (peep sights) Target division Neil Attwood had a first round score of 45/3 followed by Rick Mischlewski with 44/1,
Second round: Attwood dropped two points to score 53/2 with Mischlewski trailing with 52/4 Norbit Schmidt shooting F class (scoped, mechanical rest) shooting 58/3 out of 60 and 61/3 from 66, giving a total of 119/6 from 126.
