Attwood wins a heated round

THREE mem­bers shot Dou­ble 300 me­tres on Satur­day af­ter­noon at the Moss­man and Dis­trict Ri­fle Range.

Neil Attwood won the day with a dou­ble range score of 98/5 closely fol­lowed by Mis­chlewski on 97/5.

Shoot­ing proved a test for the Tar­get Ri­fle shoot­ers with very hot and hu­mid con­di­tions as well as the very small tar­get proved a havoc with the scores.

First range con­sists of 2 sight­ing shots to zero the ri­fle fol­lowed by 10 more shots.

The sec­ond range con­sists of 2 sight­ing shots fol­lowed by 11 more shots. Each shot has a max­i­mum value of 5 points for a bull eye and down to 2 points for a bird or a mag­pie if not within the tar­get.

The /3 or /5 de­notes a dead cen­tre shot within the bulls eye.

In the Full bore (peep sights) Tar­get di­vi­sion Neil Attwood had a first round score of 45/3 fol­lowed by Rick Mis­chlewski with 44/1,

Sec­ond round: Attwood dropped two points to score 53/2 with Mis­chlewski trail­ing with 52/4 Nor­bit Sch­midt shoot­ing F class (scoped, me­chan­i­cal rest) shoot­ing 58/3 out of 60 and 61/3 from 66, giv­ing a to­tal of 119/6 from 126.
