Douglas Netball programs cater for all player levels
COME along and be a part of the largest female sport in Australia – play netball!
Netball is a skilful and enjoyable sport that can be played at all levels. The Douglas Netball Association provides this for your fitness and enjoyment.
Douglas Netball is inviting Junior and Senior players to join a team.
First term will start with Juniors from 4pm and Seniors from 6pm at the Mossman Indoor Sports Complex.
DNA invites all junior players to ‘Come and Try’ the game, the first few weeks will be training and skills along with game play this is to encourage new and existing players to participate and enjoy this wonderful game.
There is also a 10-week Net Set Go program available for young beginners in term 1 (ages from 8 years) with Michelle Teasdale. The program focuses on basic skills and most importantly fun for our new netballers.
This year there are a number of pathways for Juniors to further their skill through training with high profile presenters and special programs. All players have the opportunity to participate.
Seniors come along and enter a team or sign up individually. The season comprises three divisions that culminate in the Grand Finals in September.
The Junior and Senior fixture season will start at Port Douglas Netball Courts at the beginning of term 2. Douglas netball will provide a bus for registered Juniors from Mossman State School at 3.30pm to transport to Port Courts to help out working parents.
Douglas Netball is always looking for volunteers. We offer coaching and umpiring programs – there are many opportunities and training available for support staff for netball. Coaches and umpires are most valued and payment is available for qualified officials. We are happy to teach you.
We look forward to welcoming our current and new players back to Netball 2017. Douglas Netball represents “Clean and friendly Sport”. We are also advocates of the Queensland Government initiative “It’s Positive or it’s Pointless” program.
