SWINGING SEAT

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

DAVID Kempton won Cook for the LNP in 2012 – the first time the seat had been out of Labor’s hands since 1974. It was a short-lived incumbency, with then-Labor candidate Billy Gordon taking the seat in the 2015 election with 56.8 per cent of the vote after preferences – a 10.2 per cent swing away from the LNP. One Nation did not run a candidate in 2015, but candidate James Evans won only 2.2 per cent of the vote in 2012.
