Coun­cil seeks com­mu­nity’s feed­back on draft arts plan

DOU­GLAS com­mu­ni­ties are in­vited to pro­vide feed­back on Coun­cil’s Draft Arts Strat­egy and Pol­icy.

Those in­ter­ested have un­til COB on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 27, to pro­vide feed­back on the draft arts strat­egy and pol­icy.

“The Strat­egy will pro­vide medium-term or­gan­i­sa­tional di­rec­tion for lo­cal arts with prac­ti­cal, achiev­able ac­tions while the frame­work will en­able Coun­cil to plan fu­ture ac­tions and projects for a pe­riod of five years,” Mayor Leu said.

“The strat­egy has been de­vel­oped af­ter tak­ing into ac­count is­sues and pri­or­i­ties iden­ti­fied through tar­geted com­mu­nity en­gage­ment dur­ing Septem­ber and Oc­to­ber.”

The Strat­egy will be used when de­vel­op­ing Coun­cil’s an­nual bud­gets and op­er­a­tional plans and as­sess­ing ap­pli­ca­tions to Coun­cil’s var­i­ous grants pro­grams and pub­lic art sub­mis­sions.

Pub­lic com­ments re­ceived dur­ing the two-week pe­riod will be tak­ing into ac­count for the fi­nalised Strat­egy, to be pre­sented to Coun­cil for adop­tion.
