Fortunately such a thing could never happen here: An Australia Day reveller who rode a motorised Esky has been charged with high-range drink driving. The 21 year old was celebrating the national public holiday in Camden, southwest of Sydney, when he decided to take his Esky for a spin around the neighbourhood while his friends filmed from a balcony. Highway patrol officers noticed the man about 7.30pm and stopped him for a breath test. He allegedly recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.162, more than three times the legal limit. It is understood the Esky’s specifications deemed it a ‘‘vehicle’’.
