Mossman Primary goes up a size with new class
MOSSMAN Primary School has added a new class this year, 2A, to cater for higher numbers.
With that has come a new teacher, Ms Tiarna Caltabiano, and new aide, Ms Naomi Taylor .
“Families are starting to choose our school, which is great for us. We are seeing higher numbers,” said head of teaching and learning, Sharon Case.
“The perception of our school is that it’s a good school, a good place for kids to learn. We have highly skilled teachers and our results have spoken for themselves. We’ve had good results across the board.
Last week the four student leaders at the school went to a leadership workshop for the Douglas cluster of schools, held at Lake Tinaroo.
Staying at the Tinaroo Environmental Education Centre, the children – Kian Byrne, Tyson Crees, Jack Potter and Zara Soltwedel – took part in exercises that worked on the practical elements of leadership such as teamwork and the ability to evaluate situations.
