Re­gional food pro­duc­ers wanted

DOU­GLAS’S long list of high qual­ity, arte­san food sup­pli­ers and provi­dores can put their pro­duce in front 80,000 hun­gry gour­mands at Queens­land’s sig­na­ture gourmet food event, Re­gional Flavours, in Bris­bane in July.

Ap­pli­ca­tions from grow­ers or pro­duc­ers of small batch artisan foods in­ter­ested in vend­ing in the Re­gional Flavours Mar­ket­place, which is now in its ninth year, are now open.

The or­gan­is­ers says stall­hold­ers from pre­vi­ous events have been able to con­nect with new whole­sale buy­ers, lo­cal restau­ra­teurs and com­mer­cial food dis­trib­u­tors to ex­plore busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties. This year’s event will take place on Satur­day and Sun­day, July 15-16, in South Bank Park­lands.

Pop­u­lar stalls at the 2016 event in­cluded hand­made choco­lates, na­tive fruits, lo­cal honey, gluten free in­gre­di­ents, or­ganic veg­eta­bles, cured meat prod­ucts, olive oils, bou­tique winer­ies, gourmet sweets, pre­serves and cheeses.

Re­gional Flavours is at­tended by more than 80,000 food lovers who flock to see celebrity chef demon­stra­tions, pic­nic with friends and shop the Mar­ket­place for new, in­no­va­tive and de­li­cious foods to stock their larders.
