Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree is on the hunt for five local passionate ambassadors to showcase the region, sharing their story and why home “is their paradise”. In the latest Show Me Your Paradise campaign for 2017, executive officer Tara Bennett said the shift in direction would highlight a whole other side to life in the Tropical North and what unique characteristics made the Douglas region so special. Personal encounters resonate far better with audiences than any form of traditional salesbased marketing. We are hoping that by sharing the stories of locals, who love what they do and where they live, others will be inspired to visit us and experience some of these things for themselves. Aligning with Tourism Events Queensland’s pillars of beach, reef, aquatic, lifestyle and natural encounters, TPDD is looking for people across all sectors, primary producers, those with special interests, environmentalists, wildlife rescuers, if you are doing something special than we really want to hear from you. Entries close 26th February 2017. People are encouraged to nominate themselves or a friend with a short 100 word description at visitportdouglasdaintree/mystory.
