TIMES ARE TOUGH FOR SOMEONE ON A PENSION

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - OPINION -

One can only agree with Erling Petersen (Letters, February 16): many pensioners escape overseas where their pension has more value than paying bills.

Is it any wonder that people seek a better life elsewhere when in Aussie living becomes a matter of desperation due to too many crooked rich and a government which acts like snapping crocodiles and hungry sharks, all of which need culling.

It seems the only way to stop the human greed gene turning into a cancer because we are the poorest pensioners in the Western world, living out our years trying to pay big bills, which is so sad.

While politicians waste money to fly around the block they have forgotten how to suffer or what it means.
