WILL COCONUT RUN?

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

Many people have been suggesting Coconut throw his hat in the ring for what seems a likely state election any day (or month) now. Coconut is flattered, and does feel that he would have much to contribute due to his expertise in small business and minerals exploration (to wit, as a beachcomber with a metal detector). Just how many other parliamentarians have such experience? No, they’re all journalists and lawyers. Anyway, someone else being pestered by such suggestions currently is our good mayor, M’am Leu. Her Mayorness politely scoffs at such suggestions she might run. Still, as Coconut knows, it’s nice to be asked. And if you want to flatter someone, then it’s the easiest thing in the world. Next week Coconut will bring you more news of people who aren’t running.
