Thanks for your help, Julatten volunteers

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS | OPINION -

Last Sunday on ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ 13 Julatten locals worked on the top lookout for an hour and a half removing 30 bags of trash plus 22 tyres. Overall 98 bags of rubbish plus washing machines, microwaves, batteries, car parts and bags of telephone directories were collected.

I would like to thank those folk that “did the dirty work” noting the gross lack of support of residents means that they don’t see the trash that lines this beautiful Wet Tropics highway.

If indeed they do see the trash they must be proud of it.

Any are welcome to organise the next clean up in March 2018 as after six years I have officially retired from the project.

I would like to especially express thanks to Douglas Shire Council for their “on the ground” support.

The clean up on the road to Julatten last year.
