Cairns prop­erty stands out

AC­CORD­ING to the Real Es­tate In­sti­tute of Queens­land (REIQ) the Cairns real es­tate mar­ket is one of the few re­gional mar­kets that has per­formed mod­er­ately well over the past five years.

The quar­terly me­dian house price did not grow this quar­ter, hold­ing steady at $395,000, but com­pared with 2011, has grown 12.2 per cent.

The unit mar­ket fell 6.1 per cent over the quar­ter to $225,000, how­ever, for the year the mar­ket has grown 4 per cent and has grown 6.8 per cent over the past five years.
