Whilst we in the Dou­glas Re­gion are thank­ing our lucky stars TC Deb­bie stayed away, we are con­tin­u­ing to roll out our care­fully planned re­sponse to en­sure that vis­i­tors con­tinue com­ing to our re­gion for the Easter hol­i­day sea­son and months to come. We need every­one in the Dou­glas Shire to sup­port our ef­forts by do­ing the fol­low­ing; • Cre­ate real-time #port­dou­glas­dain­tree con­tent and share to your so­cial chan­nels, or send di­rectly to us at We need this con­tent over the com­ing weeks to share with TEQ who will be call­ing out to des­ti­na­tions to de­liver out­stand­ing real-time con­tent. • This in­cludes video of our beaches, parks, look­outs, etc to show the stun­ning nat­u­ral land­scapes. Send this to us to be fea­tured on our chan­nels with cred­its. • Make sure to tag your im­ages with #port­dou­glas­dain­tree and when it was taken so we can share with TEQ. • Reach out to your data­base to let them know we are open for busi­ness in Dou­glas Please be as­sured that as your voice for the tourism in­dus­try we are tak­ing ac­tion to en­sure our re­gion and econ­omy suf­fer min­i­mal im­pact from this sig­nif­i­cant weather event. The work­shop will be on Wed­nes­day 26th April 2017 from 2pm to 5 pm at the Port Dou­glas Com­mu­nity Cen­tre thanks to sup­port from Dou­glas Shire Coun­cil.
