27TH APRIL – TTNQ MEGA FAMIL ARRIVES IN REGION
With the Easter influx behind us the coming month will be focused on preparing for another busy high season. TPDD is finalising planning for 2017/18 again looking to increase demand for shoulder season travel and boost year-round visitation. We will be launching our Show Me Your Paradise ambassadors next week and introducing the five passionate Douglas locals whose stories we will be using to showcase the different elements of our destination. Discover Paradise will be delivered to over 120,000 households in our key markets on Saturday 29 th April, fingers crossed for a cool snap to inspire our southern friends to head to Douglas for their autumn and winter escapes! We recently held our Marketing Strategy meeting seeking intel from in market members, thank you to the team at QT Port Douglas for hosting the meeting. Port Douglas Carnivale is just around the corner with a great line up of events. Check out their website and contact our office if you need copies of brochures for guests. team will be holding a networking event at Rattle N Hum in Port Douglas and all TPDD members are invited along to join in the fun! The event will run from 5-7pm and drinks will be at happy hour prices for the first hour. If you would like to come along please let Mikala know on email@example.com In a first for the region, TTNQ will welcome 57 agents from New South Wales, Victoria, Southern Queensland and New Zealand to experience the very best Tropical North Queensland has to offer on eight different itineraries. The Douglas region will see the lions share of itineraries spend time in region stretching from Wangetti Beach to Cape Tribulation and including Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge and Daintree River in the mix. The highlyqualified agents will have five days of touring to learn about what sets our region apart. The famil culminates in a full day workshop with forty TNQ operators spending a day training all of the travel agents followed by a farewell function.
