Coconut is overcome with joy. Council has applied new tar to the rocky road that was Grant St in Port Douglas, behind the supermarket. Until now Coconut has used this street only as a last resort — pretty difficult as it has the said supermarket entrance along the way. It was so bumpy that one day both wing mirrors on Coconut’s dear old Austin 1100 fell off! When the Wet Season closed off the road to Weipa, the army used to use Grant St to test its Unimogs. There was a 3m croc called Ron living in one of the worst holes. Well done guys for getting that roadway fixed up, and a few others.
