ST Augustine’s Prep students invite their teddies to afternoon tea
The St Augustine’s Prep and year six students buddied up for an afternoon of fun and social connections in the last week of term one.
St Augustine’s students and teachers are committed to making all children at our school feel safe, welcome and part of the Saints community. In saying this, all prep students are buddied with a year six students, whom they connect with on a daily basis throughout their prep year.
Our term one ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ catch up was a SEL (Social Emotional Learning) focused fun afternoon.
The Preps, their buddies and their teddies shared a story together read by one of year six students, created Easter/Lent cards together and iced and ate Easter biscuits together.
By spending group time and one on one time with their Buddies, the preps are empowered and encouraged to make strong and meaningful social connections with the student leaders of our school.
We look forward to many more of our child-centred Buddy get-togethers.
