As a lo­cal res­i­dent, when the ‘sea­son’ com­mences I am to­tally frus­trated at the lack of con­trol shown by the visit­ing back­pack­ers and the fact that the Po­lice are al­ways happy to pick up lo­cals for mi­nor in­fringe­ments but to­tally ig­nore the back­pack­ers.

David­son Street in par­tic­u­lar (be­tween Ma­hogany St down David­son and then into town) is awash with peo­ple on bikes, no hel­mets, no hands on han­dle­bars, tex­ting whilst rid­ing, and ear buds in. The amount of times my­self and my neigh­bours have nar­rowly missed col­lect­ing one of these id­iots is nu­mer­ous. No­body dis­mounts at Ma­ho­nany Street as per the sig­nage, nor
