Cape kids charged
A 12-year-old boy from Napranum is the latest to be charged as part of ongoing investigation into a fire that gutted a community hall in the Cape York community on May 21.
The building sustained significant damage in the blaze and a number of children were observed fleeing the scene on foot.
The boy was located and charged yesterday afternoon with one count of arson.
Two other boys aged 12 and 13 have been similarly charged during the past week and a 9year-old boy has also been counselled in relation to the matter.
In another property related investigations relating to the Napranum community, a 15year-old local boy was charged yesterday with two counts of breaking and entering premises and one count of wilful damage.
