The Aus­tralian Tourism Ex­change (ATE) in Sydney last week was a huge suc­cess with great ex­cite­ment about prod­ucts from the Dou­glas Re­gion. ATE is Aus­tralia’s largest an­nual travel and tourism busi­ness to busi­ness event. The event pro­vides a fo­rum for Dou­glas tourism busi­nesses to show­case their prod­ucts and es­tab­lish im­por­tant busi­ness links with the peo­ple and or­gan­i­sa­tions that take Aus­tralian tourism to the in­ter­na­tional mar­ket place. TPDD had a full ap­point­ment sched­ule and met with ap­prox­i­mately 130 peo­ple from 105 com­pa­nies dur­ing the show. TPDD fo­cused on prod­uct up­dates, at­tract­ing more high-end group se­ries to the re­gion as well as mar­ket­ing part­ner­ships for fu­ture ac­tiv­ity. Some en­cour­ag­ing com­ments re­ceived from key buy­ers in­cluded; ’95% of Queens­land sales go to Port Dou­glas - USA’, ‘Port Dou­glas is our third high­est sell­ing Aus­tralian des­ti­na­tion af­ter Sydney and Mel­bourne - UK’, ‘Port Dou­glas Dain­tree is the num­ber 1 seller for Queens­land by room nights
