Julatten, Port hold Under 8s events
JULATTEN State School and Sunbird Children’s Centre hosted an Under 8s morning last Wednesday. Under 8s theme for this year is Country to Coast, with children invited to wear fancy dress to the celebration.
Students along with other youngsters enjoyed a fantastic morning of outdoor play with an obstacle course, bubble machine, sand toys, fishing, painting, goop and mask making. Children loved the face painting, hay bale horse rides, fairy garden and visit by Julatten Rural Fire Brigade.
Julatten State School principal, Mrs Gaye Lovelock, said the success of the morning could be judged by the smiles on children’s faces. She said Under 8s allows children to learn through play and interaction, however the morning was also the perfect opportunity for Early Childhood Educators to work collaboratively and build positive partnerships with families and the community.
Children at Port Douglas State School also joined in on the fun last Tuesday. Children played footy, got creative with arts and crafts and enjoyed a ride on the Lil Squirt buggy.
