Sorensen calls for applications
SUBMISSIONS are open for funding from the Salsa Sorensen Foundation for six weeks, so now’s the time to get your application in.
The Port Douglas based charity is planning its ninth annual golf day for Sunday, August 20, at the Palmer Sea Reef.
So far it has raised more than $100,000 for the community.
The Clink Theatre was one of the beneficiaries in 2015.
“I couldn’t thank the Sorensen Foundation more for the amazing charity donations they make to the community,” said DTAG president Michael Kerr.
“The Clink benefited greatly with $3000 which allowed us to carpet the theatre. The floor in the theatre was unsafe and needed replacing.
“We were able to secure the work to have the floor replaced but without the wonderful contribution from Jenny Sorensen and her foundation we would have been left with an unfinished and unsightly floor in the theatre.
“I would highly recommend other community groups to apply to the foundation and would really hope the business community continue supporting this foundation that really benefits our local community.”
Apply for funding by going to the website www.salsasorensen.com and go to Grant Applications and fill out the form and submit.
The submissions for funding will be open for six weeks from today (June 8 2017).
