Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

Days after our wonderful combined sport day event for Pink in the Tropics, I am still receiving praise on the success of the day, I am deeply humbled and thank all for your comments.

However, it is the community of the Douglas Shire that is to be congratulated.

The Crocs Football Club led by Chris Bradsworth supported me and Pink In The Tropics with enthusiasm, from the Committee to the players, everyone was so committed to the day.

The Junior Crocs handed over a substantial amount from their raffle money — how good is that!

The manager, staff and chef of Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club did all they could and more to make sure everything was as it should be.

Wade Greasly from Niramaya once again pledged $20 per goal from the Seniors game, lots of money this year!

Ten of our Crocs players interrupted their pre game routine to come to the brunch and mingle with the guests.

Generosity was at its peak when offerings for our raffle just kept on coming, many thanks to all concerned.

Our “Pinkers” Lorraine, Maria and Andrea worked hard to help out.

The Saints Football Club embraced the day and their supporters were many.

The Crocs Pit was so very well attended by AFL fans

Douglas Shire Council were represented by our Mayor and two Councillors.

AFL Cairns came along with the guest speaker being the President. Accor also supported us very well. These are just a few points to show how proud Port Douglas Community should be.
