THE FAM­ILY of a Port Dou­glas woman who went missing overnight on Tues­day are “ex­tremely wor­ried”.

Po­lice are ask­ing for help to find Jessica Hamill, 20, af­ter she went missing from her Lim­pet Av­enue home be­fore 2am on Tues­day.

It is be­lieved she may be with a male known to her and may be held against her will.

Act­ing in­spec­tor Mick Gooiker said po­lice were “very con­cerned” for her safety.

“Her fam­ily and friends are ex­tremely con­cerned for her and we are try­ing any­thing we can to lo­cate her as soon as pos­si­ble,” he said.

“The girl’s par­ents are ex­tremely wor­ried about their daugh­ter and we are just try­ing to lo­cate her to see if she is okay ... Any­one in this sit­u­a­tion would be hor­ri­fied – it is their daugh­ter.”

Po­lice re­ceived a call this morn­ing af­ter Ms Hamill did not show up for work.

Her house­mates were the last peo­ple to see Ms Hamill be­fore she went to bed about 2am.

“It is be­lieved they are driv­ing in the Table­lands area, but they could be any­where,” Act Insp Gooiker said.

Ms Hamill is de­scribed as cau­casian, about 170cm tall and of medium build, with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair.

They are pos­si­bly trav­el­ling in a black 2012 model Holden Com­modore sta­tion wagon with black wheels fit­ted.
