New tour, new boat, happy days
SAILAWAY’S having a big month, with the inauguration of its new tour running out of Cape Tribulation and the arrival in Port Douglas of its brand new baby, the Sailaway VI catamaran, a bigger vessel to take over the Low Isles operation.
“It augers well for a bumper 2017 season on the Great Barrier Reef,” said owner Steve Edmondson.
Sailaway VI, an ocean going Lagoon 560 catamaran from France, sailed via the Panama Canal, Tahiti and Fiji, to Port Douglas. As ever, the operators stress the environmental sustainability credentials of their vessels and their operations.
The bigger vessel and the launch of the Cape Trib to Mackay Cay and Undine fullday cruise means the company has upscaled somewhat.
“We have employed another five full-time staff, including extra marine biologists and skippers,” Mr Edmondson said.
“We have received excellent feedback from passengers who appreciate our naturebased, luxury sailing experience.”
