SPATE OF CRASHES
A single vehicle crash into a power pole on Captain Cook Highway just north of Port Douglas on June 24 left a 65year-old old M ossman woman with abrasions and dislocations. Sshe was taken to Mossman hospital stable condition. Power lines lay over the highway for a time and the road was closed for until Ergon cleared the wires. There was a three vehicle traffic crash about 5 km north of Ellis Beach on Captain Cook Highway on June 24 just around 9:30 am. At 5 pm a car ran into a tree on Johnston Rd, Mossman. Two children, aged 9 and 6, were taken to Mossman Hospital with minor injuries. The 9-year-old was later taken to Cairns Base Hospital. On June 23 a 27-yearold Cairns motorbike rider from Cairns crashed into an embankment on the Captain Cook Highway north of Turtle Cove resort at 10:24 am. He suffered lacerations and bruising and was taken to Mossman hospital. On the same day, a female was taken to Mossman hospital with minor injuries after a three-vehicle traffic crash on Ocean View Rd at Bonnie Doon.
