Govt slugs us with big bills

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

THE new financial year means more state governmentcaused financial pain, with car registration and driver licence fees all rising.

RACQ’s Renee Smith said motorists would be taken for a ride with registration and driver licence costs to rise at almost double the rate of inflation.

Ms Smith said motorists had every right to be frustrated as the State Government once again ignored RACQ’s plea for a registration freeze.

“From 2019-20 increases to registration and driver licence fees will be capped at CPI but for many this is a case of too little too late,” she said.
