Cafe on top with new roof

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

AUSTRALIA’S leading wildlife experience, Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas, has had a facelift in the form of a brand new roof on their Curlew Café.

The CaPTA group invested approximately $160,000 on the project, and used a local Port Douglas business, RAM Metalworks to design and construct it.

World famous for Breakfast with the Birds and Lunch with the Lorikeets, the Curlew Café reopened on the 30th of June, just in time for school holidays and peak season.

CaPTA project manager, Michael Woodward said: “This substantial investment shows our commitment to upgrade the quality experience for tourists and locals.”

The Curlew Café can now cater to even larger groups and events and is effectively sheltered from the elements.

The refurbishment has been accompanied by a new lunch menu, while the breakfast will remain the much-loved buffet.

Wildlife Habitat refurbishments will continue over the next year to ensure the attraction stays at the forefront of what tourists and locals desire in a wildlife immersion experience.
