Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - Gizelle Ghidella

THE Port Douglas Fire and Rescue Station has a new look.

Extensive renovations worth $1 million have upgraded the facility.

Captain Clayton Vladich thanked stakeholders involved in the extension of the station and praised the work of his crew.

“I applaud all of you for the time and effort you put into us, it makes a difference,” he said.

“I thank my crew who are an amazing bunch of people, I can’t do it without you.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services Mark Ryan was at the station to unveil its new engine bay and extension.

“The renovation gives the station increased capacity to store its fire trucks that were previously shuffled around the busy front entrance and gives room for growth of the fleet.”
