THE HOUSE OF DAN

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

Debbie the Soccer Mum has often wondered whether a part time job at the House of Dan liquor emporium might not be to her liking. After all she can find anything in its vast spaces even if she’s blindfolded. That’s product knowledge. But while in a queue there the other day she had pause to reconsider. A rude man brushed passed her and pushed in ahead. After he was served Debbie fronted the counter to find the shop assistant somewhat a-quiver. “What’s up?” she asked. “That bloke,” said the counter bloke. “He’s out on parole for armed robbery.” has noticed a lot more Spanish spoken around town than normal in these last few weeks. Apparently the visa rules for South Americans have been relaxed, allowing the influx of such antipodean backpackers into rural Australia. Or maybe they just can’t get through Trump’s wall . . . And while we’re at it, Coconut sends a happy hola to Maria from Uruguay.
