Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

MORNING teas, bus trips and a movie matinee are some of the activities for Douglas Shire residents as Seniors Week is celebrated in August.

Mayor Cr Julia Leu said Council and a number of local not for profit organisations had been working, to bring a wide range of activities for the Shire’s residents.

“In addition to celebrating Seniors Week, the activities give our residents the opportunity to meet the staff and volunteers behind our community organisations and find out more about the range of services they deliver.

“This year, morning and afternoon teas will also provide residents of all ages with opportunities to provide input into our “Age-Friendly” survey,” Mayor Leu said.

“If you have an innovative idea for an age-friendly community, please share your thoughts with Council staff, or complete the survey form by the end of September.”
