Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

As peak season gets busier and busier I think visitors to our beautiful part of the world should be made aware to give way if they can’t find their gas pedal when travelling on the Captain Cook Highway between here and Cairns.

Numerous times I’ve been stuck behind a slow moving camper van or rental car.

It’s common courtesy, it’s plainly stated on the signs and makes everyone happy if you just pull to the side.

Sometimes however when they do give way in the slow lane, they don’t actually give way to traffic behind them and merge straight back in before anyone can pass.

People need to learn our road rules, I understand driving in a new country or state is a bit different but something should be done to prevent accidents on our roads. It wasn’t too long ago I was facing a car head on.
