Ladies, the ball is in your court

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - Gizelle Ghidella

PORT Douglas Basketball Association is looking for more women to join the ladies comp this season.

Organiser Dean Bland wants to see the women’s comp grow to be bigger and better in the upcoming season which starts on August 31.

“It started off pretty small two years ago and now we have four teams in the comp but it will be fantastic to see some new faces in the mix,” Mr Bland said.

“The ladies are getting more and more skilled and the competition is getting stronger.”

“You don’t have to be a professional basketball player, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

The Port Douglas Basketball competition has grown significantly. The men’s league started with four teams and now there are six.

Head down to the Cyclone Shelter Thursday nights from 6pm – women of all skill levels are welcome.
