SAME SEX MARRIAGE: COUNCIL SHOULD PULL ITS HEAD IN

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - OPINION -

I am angry. How dare this council decide for me that I will support same sex marriage. I have no problem with council running the shire, roads, rubbish etc to make sure this shire is run efficiently and we pay handsomely for the privilege.

But and the big BUT is lay off social issues – they are none of your business and you are not entitled to speak for the ratepayers of the shire.

I don’t care if you support it or not, I will make my decision in the vote, all you are doing is making sure people know that you are biased. Council does not have a vote.

This Letter has nothing to do with the issue but council’s presumption that we need its approval.

Pull your head in.

Sue Entwistle, Port Douglas
