The ad­di­tion of the Mas­ter­class Se­ries to this year’s Port Shorts Film Fes­ti­val has re­ceived phe­nom­e­nal in­ter­est from lo­cals and in­ter­state vis­i­tors with more than 100 emerg­ing film­mak­ers par­tic­i­pat­ing. The Mas­ter­class se­ries will take place 25th – 27th October and in­cludes a Young Film­mak­ers Mas­ter­class on 27th October. Or­gan­is­ers have yet again been over­whelmed by the qual­ity of short films en­tered this year com­pet­ing for more than $12,000 in cash and prizes and they can’t wait to share them with au­di­ences on Fri­day 27th and Saturday 28th October. Fri­day night fea­tures the Port Shorts Young Film­maker Awards where Aus­tralia’s best young cre­atives aged 18 and un­der show­case their skills as well as the new Mu­sic Video cat­e­gory which boasts awe­some tal­ent from around the world. The main event on Saturday night fea­tures the best lo­cal short films fol­lowed by an amaz­ing lineup of na­tional and in­ter­na­tional film­mak­ers com­pet­ing for the Port Shorts Film Fes­ti­val Open Film­maker Awards. We en­cour­age everyone to join the TPDD team un­der the stars at the Port Dou­glas Sports Com­plex and cel­e­brate the tal­ented short film­mak­ers.
