BIM dancers prepare Mansion of Mystery

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - THE GROOVE -

MORE than 200 students from Bodies in Motion Dance School were busy sitting their Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Classical Ballet dance exams. Examiners travelled from Brisbane and Melbourne to assess local dancers, ranking them against students from all across the country.

After the long wait for results to arrive in the mail, students celebrated together with family and friends at a presentation ceremony where everyone was awarded a certificate, medal and a written report.

Principal Saskia Turner said that this year saw a record number of distinction and honours marks for the school.

“To have over 50 of our students sitting in the top 10% of students tested nationally is simply amazing” said Miss Turner. “It is real a credit to our students’ work ethic and of course our wonderful teachers. I am so proud of everyone and our accomplishments as a school.”

Now that exams are over, students are busy perfecting their moves for their end of year performance, “Mansion of Mystery” to be held at The Glade, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas on December 1-2.

Exams over, now for the big show
