Ash is really going places
A FORMER Wonga woman has has landed a national award for travel agents.
Ash Fabiani from Travel Experience in Atherton has won the national Rising Star award at the Magellan Travel Group annual conference in Perth.
The champion trip organiser now has the pleasure of letting Magellan handle all the details for her own prize trip – a visit to Ireland next March.
“I don’t even know when it’s on exactly,” said the 22year-old. “They said something about St Patrick’s Day, but they are doing all the organising.”
The award recognises outstanding travel agents who have been in the business for less than three years and stand out in their field.
Ms Fabiani had been secretly nominated by her colleagues and was completely taken aback at the surprise win.
“Not long ago I was working out on a mustering camp, where you’d barely talk to anyone all day and today I get to meet so many different people all the time,” Ms Fabiani said.
“They tell me all about their adventures overseas and trip plans – it’s exciting to be able to help and share their journeys.”
She said her job has ignited her own passion for travel.
“I’ve been to Vietnam, Italy, Japan and New Zealand,” she said.
“Not too long ago I helped a lady book and price up a cruise she wanted to take from Singapore, through Indonesia, Darwin and then back through to Cairns.
“I got so excited about the trip myself I ended up spending my last holiday doing the same thing. It was amazing.
