Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month officially begins this month, and the Ovarian Cancer Australia office is a hive of activity as we prepare for the busy month ahead.

At this time each year, people often ask me: “How can I make a difference?” There are so many people in our community who are driven to take action for women living with ovarian cancer and their families.

This passion is a driving force for Ovarian Cancer Australia, and has proven to be incredibly powerful over the years, both in raising awareness and funds to support women and save lives.

This February, if you’re wondering, ‘How can I make a difference?’, I urge you

to join our wonderful network of community fundraisers and register to host your own Afternoon Teal event.

Whether you decide to get friends together for an afternoon tea, host a movie night or head out onto the green for a golf day, every Afternoon Teal event helps to fund high-impact research and

provide support programs for women and their families, while also raising awareness of ovarian cancer across the country.

If you can’t host your own event, there are many other ways to show your support.

Buy and wear a teal ribbon on Teal Ribbon Day (28 February) or make a donation.

I also encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to hear about our latest awareness activities and help spread the word!

Warm regards,

Jane Hill, CEO, Ovarian Cancer Australia
