Mossman Police to provide presence during ferry closure
MOSSMAN Police have committed to providing a full time policing presence at Cape Tribulation during the upcoming Ferry closure from February 28 to March 4.
Two officers will be placed over the river for the duration of the closure. Officer in Charge Sgt Matt Smith said his officers would work closely with Wujal Police, the other emergency agencies and the Cape Tribulation community to ensure an effective and prompt service to any situation that may arise.
If residents wish to contact Police and it is an emergency, RING 000. If it is not an emergency, residents need to make contact through the Queensland Police Number 131444.
Meanwhile, DSC has announced the Daintree ferry will be offering free trips to locals for two weeks from today before undergoing the five-day shutdown.
The service will be free to people who live between Cardwell and Cooktown including the Tablelands until February 28.
