FAMILIES are being urged to make the switch to the Federal Government’s new child care and early learning system or risk missing out on the new subsidies.

Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch said new data showed around 74 per cent of FNQ families have already made the switch. “Far North Queensland families who haven’t made the switch need to do so by July 2, or they could miss out on receiving the new child care subsidy,” he said.

“Many families in Cairns and Far North Queensland will be hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year better off under our reforms but they need to make the switch to the new system. They should visit www.education.gov.au/childcare as soon as they can.”
